My name is Pat Loika.

I'm a writer, illustrator and podcaster based out of San Diego, CA. I also dabble in photography and way too many other activities to list.

This is where I do my personal blogging, with random thoughts, nonsense, art and photos.

A little behind the scenes from my photo shoot with Jay Tablante. My pal Pat Loika took this pic.
This is Emma Frost in her All New X-Men/Uncanny X-Men get up. After the Phoenix Five were defeated, Emma returned with her powers broken and sporting this all black get up. I love the design of the suit, but like all Emma ensembles, being a small chested lady with not a lot of support creates a lot of design challenges.
The design is altered from the original to flatter my frame. I created the bodysuit pattern and build a bra into the suit. For added oomph, I put a 34D in there, wore a 34C bra and stuffed with silicone “chicken cutlets” (fake boobs, I not chicken breasts were harmed in the shooting of this cosplay). The boot covers are from the same rubber-like material as the suit and slip on a paid of heels. The gloves are leather, purchased off ebay. The belt a lucky find at my local mall. When I first wore it, I put a modest panel of flesh colored power mesh to help keep the mid section together. I didn’t like the aesthetic of it, so for Anime Weekend Atlanta, I ripped it out. It actually holds up pretty well. I also made the coat she is now sporting, but it wasn’t used in this shot. I hope to get many more pictures (and now with my more flattering, more accurate wig) in the near future!
